The conversation about who is the best basketball player of all time usually raises eyebrows and people would often have a long conversation about a conversation that leads to nowhere. The game of basketball has produced a lot of talents since the NBA became a competitive sport in the late 1960s. With the global initiatives of the NBA and producing talents from all continents; the question of the next bona fide is always a guessing game. The questions are always based on the same thing which becomes mundane at times but people always want to know who is the best player and that is fine because we always know who we like and who we want to emulate in terms of playing style.

The problem is that experts do not want to cast their voting because it upsets the older generations and the older generations paved the way, and upsetting them should not be on the cards. However, the problem should be addressed and outline who is the best player of all time. The older players should get their flowers and always stand on the podium for innovating the game of basketball but at the same time, the good players of a generation should not be ignored because they have put their soul and heart into the game.

The long introduction seems vague and unnecessary because the player that is about to be introduced has done a lot of the game and he has embraced the notion of hard work and dedication to a whole new level and he has carried players on his back since he was drafted into the NBA.

Lebron James has been compared to the likes of Michael Jordan and the late Kobe Bryant. James has proven to be in his own league and silenced the haters with match winning performances, team and individual accolades. Being able to win NBA championships with multiple teams show James’ multifaceted skills and leadership traits on and off the court. The ability to move to these franchises and adapt his game to meet the coach standards and win championships show James’ unquestionable talent.

James has perfected his game and he has made adjustments to his game by showing the ability to make plays and bring a team together to make them believe that they can win a championship. The elevation of James is based on his attributes to encourage players to play on their own game by adapting to the structure of the team and manoeuvring through difficult times to overcome difficult situations during games. The leadership skills of James are some of the best in the sport industry as he can influence others and energise them to make the team believe everything that they want can be achieved - this is how a real leader should be.

The reason why James is in a league of own compared to Jordan and Bryant is that both players won their championship rings with the same team whereas James did it with different teams. Categorising James in a different league does not make him far ahead of his peers or the two legends in question but it puts him in a space where special talents are placed. The longevity of James puts him a strong contender for the greatest of all time conversations - no doubt. The understanding of the game and the trends set for the game have put Lebron in the spotlight and has made him become an icon of the modern game of basketball.

Lebron cannot get to the status of Jordan when it comes to shoes as the Jordan shoe brand is way ahead of the game and the Lebron signature shoe is nowhere near the level of Jordans. What he has done is that his philanthropic activities have put him ahead of the GOAT conversation as the game is not played on the court only because the off-field activities are equally as important as the in court activities, and Lebron has done that.
